Yes, Fikile and Puleng are sisters but not twins on the Netflix drama Blood and Water. It’s in season 2 when Fikile finds out the truth about Puleng being her sibling after a DNA test is performed. In Blood & Water‘s second season, Fikile and Puleng undergo a DNA test to confirm if they share the same mother. Puleng, with the support of her parents, arranges for the test and confides in the school counselor, Janet Nkosana. However, the initial results indicate they’re not biologically related, leaving Fikile temporarily cleared.

Yet, suspicions arise, leading her suspicious regarding the DNA test and arousing her thoughts about the result being manipulated. With help from a whistleblower, they find out the truth that they are half-sisters and the test results were manipulated.
As they dive deeper into the subject, they encounter the mystery of Fikile’s father and how they are both related to each other. Due to her mother’s past affair and following secrecy, Fikile’s paternity remains unknown.
Likewise, Season 3 develops with Fikile and her father, and Julius, visiting the Khumalo family. Mrs. Khumalo is also seen constantly questioned about Fikile’s biological father, however, every time the questions pop in, she avoids the topic. Meanwhile, the disappearance of Nwabisa adds to the family’s worries.
Finally, Fikile and Puleng track down Anthony Gabisa, who turns out to be Fikile’s biological father. He did not know of Fikile’s existence due to her mother’s decision to keep it a secret. And due to all the events, Anthony who is an artist who frequents Cape Town, initially struggles to accept Fikile.
However, when Fikile faces a life-threatening situation requiring a liver transplant, Anthony proves his love for his daughter by stepping up to donate. Despite initial hesitations, Anthony shows his affection towards her daughter and eventually saves Fikile’s life.
